(Bailey - in a spooky voice) "Threeeeee cups of olive oil! Threeeee cups of toilet water!"

(Emily - in a spooky voice) "And oooonnnneee stem of apple!"

Me: "What?!"

Bailey: "We're making a potion to kill witches.

So I was trying to look at Lori's blog today and I kept getting so frustrated when it would only refresh to mine. Oh, wait a minute, that's not mine, that's Lori's but she's changed it so it looks JUST LIKE MINE!!! What a freaking loser! I thought Lori was the creative one! She even copied our title! Burnett Kingdom my a--eye! Lori, our alliance is no more, THIS MEANS WAR!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh and Kaylene, it was Lori who told Ned about your plans.

I know! Lets invent a holiday where people give away pounds and pounds of free candy to every kid in the country so that they can slowly poison themselves a few pieces at a time and by the time it has run out all of the mothers in America will have either been committed or imprisoned for unspeakable acts. (Run on sentence, I know.) For example:

The other day Emily was sitting on the toilet when I heard her usual call for help. (She is going through a "helpless" phase and would really prefer that everyone carry her around all day doing everything for her while she hands out instructions.) Anyway, she's on the toilet and wants help wiping. (sorry) I told her she needed to do that herself this time. Then I heard: "I'll do it myself when you give me some more candy."

I believe I have made my point.

We got the sun back for the afternoon!! This time of year these kinds of days are starting to be few and far between so you learn to take advantage of them.

Kaden got his first taste of "real" food the other day. As you can see, HE LOVED IT!! And who wouldn't? "Kaden's Glop" (as Bailey refers to it) is what every hungry person is wishing for! I figure this is what they make you eat so that the strained squash you get a few weeks later will seem like heaven.

I have been trying to give Steve the benefit of the doubt and let him use the "busy" excuse but 3 months is a little excessive!! (And I, personally, have to take issue with that anyway. I mean come on! How busy can you be when someone else is doing all the homeschool, preschool, diapers, feeding, bathing, cooking, cleaning, laundry, bills, activities, shopping, scheduling, and, apparently, corresponding, for you!) So, I figured it was time to save our honor and put something up here. Here you go.

I always said I was going to be like my mom and make everyone these elaborately decorated cakes that look like trains or bears, (in my case I once ordered the BYU logo - mountain and all) but I tried that for a couple years and found out it makes me tired! So, we do cupcakes and plastic figures a lot! Can't believe she's 4 already!

No explanation required - although I should say that you are supposed to look at Kaden in this one since this is NOT Bailey's best picture!

OK--So Steve IS busy. He just finished his first volleyball season as Head Coach and will be starting basketball up in about a week. He's about halfway through the semester at WSU and, of course, there are those high school kids every day which I wouldn't wish on ANYONE. (I STILL say I win though!)

Been SOOOOOO Busy!

Sorry for the lack of updates, with school and work and family, I've just been a little overwhelmed! I finished class on Thursday and of the 14 credits I took, I'm sure to get an A in all but one (it will either be an A or A-, just haven't heard from the prof). I'm sure no one cares about that though and just wants to see pictures, so here you go :-)

Quick Update

We brought Kaden home Sat. afternoon and he's doing great! Jessica is still in a lot of pain and we took her to the ER late last night (after being advised by the advice nurse to do so). After some more needle pricks and a 2nd CAT scan they finally determined that Jessica had a "ruptured uturus" during the delivery. While she'll be sore for a while longer than normal, she's not in any immediate danger (though she'll be going in again next week for another follow up). I guess deliveries in the 21st century can still be a scary event, but we've been blessed and now both Mom and baby are doing great! Thanks for everyone's thoughts and prayers, they were appreciated.

These girls have been great with Kaden! They've been so helpful and soft. All they want to do is hold him and feed him!

I'm sorry if there's a lot of you who might read this and we haven't call individually, but...well....I guess we just don't like you as much :-).

Kaden Harris Poston was born 5/23/07 at 9:54 pm. He's 7'15 oz 20 1/2" and rivals anyone's "howitzer" ;-)

In all seriousness though, Jessica and Kaden had a really hard labor..the umbilical cord was twisted and wrapped around the neck causing low pulse/BP during contractions. We were seconds away from a C-section and then later surgery for Jessica several times. It was only through Jessica's faithfullness and the power of a Priesthood Blessing that we were able to avoid any surgeries (so far). Jessica still isn't out of the woods yet, but continues to improve. After delivery, Kaden demonstrated that he's a tough little guy and has been doing awesome. Jessica has had some internal bleedings and we're still awaiting several tests to determine if she needs surgury, but so far the blood transfusion and our prayers have helped to strengthen her.

Feeling sorry for all of you that have to live in Utah!

Man it must suck to be those of you in Utah. Having to endure all of the whining that is sure to come as my beloved Spurs dominate them! That's right (Rob-stupid Utah homer) the Spurs are coming!

Back to School

I guess it's not the cougar that most mormons become, but it's a cougar none the less. For those of you I haven't talked to in a while. I started classes this week at Washington State University this week. This summer will be pretty busy (14 semester hours!) but it will help get me finished faster. Jess is just about ready to pop, so any day now we'll have some baby pictures for everyone!

Bye Bye Pink! Finally had a good reason to get rid of the pink room that the girls loved for their play room (but I always felt a little gay in there).
